INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES


Between 2003 and 2013, the partnership with the sponsors of Iasi City and with the two German Associations: the Red Cross Association of Augsburg Land between 1999 and 2003 and with the “Aid for Romania” Association of Langenneufnach, Bavaria (www.rumaenienhilfe-stauden.de) helped the Association of United Women of Iasi – Romania in developing two categories of humanitarian programmes:

  • Programmes of permanent support for the assisted, deprived families, with a minimum standard of living
  • Programmes addressed to the deprived persons, which took place before the great Christian holidays of the year, like Easter and Christmas

The humanitarian programmes “Givers’ Gain” and "Stand Out! Help Your Neighbour!” took place during 1997 – 2021, every Christian Easter and Christmas Article

Christmas Celebration at the Shelter for Minors in Emergency Situations of Iasi – the United Women’s Association as a partner of the Seniors Multifunctional Centre. The two associations offered sweets and toys coming from donations of the “Help for Romania” German Association of Langenneufnach, Bavaria. The ambience was animated by the children’s choir of the Multifunctional Centre that interpreted special melodies from the specific repertory of the winter holidays. The children from the Shelter for Minors in Emergency Situations happily received the gifts an they were thrilled to recite poems (2012)

The debate “Assuring the Equality of Chances at Work” that took place at SC Moldomobila SA Iasi and it was organized together with the Equality of Chances Foundation of Iasi County and with Mrs. Marcela Harbada, attorney (2007) Images

The meeting regarding the “Legal Means against Domestic Violence” that took place at S.C.MOLDOMOBILA S.A. of Iasi; the beneficiaries were represented by the women that are employees of this society. The event was organized in 2002, in partnership with two organizations: the «Pro Women» Foundation of Iasi and the United Women’s Association.

The participation of the United Women’s Associationin the World March of Women; this event was born thanks to the initiative of the Quebec - Canada Women Federation and it became an international movement of solidarity that was simultaneously launched in 50 states, among which Romania. The role of the United Women’s Association was to organize a reverential show dedicated to the celebration of Woman’s International Day; within the show, the “Equal Chances for Women” Foundation of Iasi – as coordinator of this national event – released the goal and the objectives of the March and initiated a Campaign of Signatures Collection for the poverty and violence obliteration, sent to the United Nations Organization (2000)

The debate “Legislative Modifications regarding Marriage” that took place at S.C. MIGNON S.R.L. of Iasi, with the participation of press and television representatives, young people belonging to youth organizations of Iasi and 12th grade students. The debate was organized in partnership with the Register Office of Iasi City Hall and with the Public Community Service of Personal Records of Iasi City Police Department (1999) Article

The debate “Woman’s Legal Protection against Domestic Violence” had as main beneficiaries the women of S.C. Moldomobila SA of Iasi and its makers were the special guests: Mrs. Marcela Harbada, lawyer, and officers of Iasi Police Department (1999)

Mrs. Simona Modreanu, manager of "Junimea" Publishing House, PhD of the “Al. I. Cuza” University of Iaşi, Faculty of Letters, Modern Languages Department together with the United Women’s Association organized the release of the book entitled “The Four Dimensions of Romanian Femininity” that took place at the Pogor House – the Museum of Romanian Literature of Iasi. The volume’s project, which, from a conceptual point of view, is unique in Romania belongs to Mrs. Monica Tatoiu, a business woman and President of the “We Read” Foundation. In small essays, the 70 de co authors of the book, coming from different areas of Romania, tried to animate the four dimensions – considered to be relevant in underlying the profile of the contemporary woman: the relation between a woman and herself, the relation between the woman and the family, the relation between the woman and her profession and the relation between the woman and the Divinity (2010) Article Images /  

We enjoyed a double book release under the aegis of the United Women’s Association: the monograph called “Benedetto Franchetti 1824-1894 – A Mantua Israeli, Protagonist of the Romanian Musical Life” by Vladimiro Bertazzoni of Mantua – Italy and “As Long Echoes”, a volume of poetry belonging to Mrs. Valentina Lateş from Iasi. The manifestation took place in the show hall of “V. Alecsandri” National Theatre of Iasi, in front of the two authors who have been appreciated by Mr. Constantin Ciopraga, PhD and Doctor of Science, Member of Honour of the Romanian Academy and by Mrs. Teodora Irinescu, PhD reader of the Romanian Department for the foreign students of the Faculty of Letters of the “Al. Double book release: “Timeless Poetry” by Vladimiro Bertazzoni, translated by Valentina Lateş and “The Word’s Shadow”, a volume of poetry of the author Valentina Lateş; the manifestation took place in the foyer of “V. Alecsandri” National Theatre and of the National Romanian Opera of Iasi, having as guests of honour Mr. Mihai Ursachi, poet and translator, secretary of the Writers’ Union of Romania and Mr. Ioan Holban, PhD, manager of the National Theatre, philologist, literary and historical critic (1999) Article

The release of the “Talents Support Programme” had as a main goal to help the talented persons become notorious, by creating them an adequate space of expression and by financially supporting artistic, cultural, scientific personalities who deal with pecuniary issues (1998)

The regional conference for the release of the “Campaign for the Promotion of the Successful Stories of Women in Leadership Roles” as part of the project “Equal Chances for Successful Carriers” was realized by three partner organizations: SIVECO Romania, the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest and MEDIAFAX. With its objectives, the project became part of the mission of the National Agency for the Equality of Chances between Men and Women within the Ministry of Labour; the mission is represented by “the introduction of the principle of equality of chances and treatment between men and women within all the fields of the Romanian society, through the elaboration and implementation of programmes and policies based on the issues of the different categories of women in Romania” (2012)

The Conference of the “Femina” National Council – part of the “Femina” project – Instruction for the journalists, TV shows, Monitoring, National Information and Advocacy for the affirmation of the equality of chances and gender was released by Blockbuster Media and its partners, the Romanian Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women (APFR) and theNational Institute for Opinion Surveys and Marketing (INSOMAR) at a national level. The project wanted to approach the issue of the general situations of discrimination whose victims are mainly women (2011)

The project “Women’s Empowerment on the Labour Market” was developed by the Agency of Communitarian Development “Together” in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Protection, the National Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Romania – “Brotherhood” and the National Institute of Scientific Research from the Field of Labour and Social Protection. The general objective of the project was that of developing the capacity of the organizational units to promote the equality of chances on the labour market for the Roma women belonging to the vulnerable groups (2011)
